Timer-Thermostats
Overview
ICY has especially developed a series of thermostats for use in spaces where the user is not the person paying the energy bill. Examples are chalets, club houses, offices, hotel rooms and e.g. student housing/dormitories.
Users of these spaces often open a window or door when it gets too warm, and in response the boiler works even harder to maintain the set temperature.
With the ICY Timer-Thermostats, temperature can be cleverly controlled, without losing comfortability. Based on presence detection, the system "knows" when a space needs to be heated, therfore avoiding the heater being activated unnecessarily. The most advanced models can also be combined with a key responder.
Compared to regular thermostats, the ICY Timer-Thermostats save from 20% to 50% on your energy bill.
In comparison to standard thermostats, ICY's Timer-Thermostats can save between 20% to 50% on energy consumption

Switch moments and temperature
The thermostat will automatically switch back to the Dormant mode when the occupier is absent, and in case of a long absence to the Anti-Frost mode. These switch moments and the temperature can be set by the building manager.
Vandal proof
The thermostat’s settings are protected with a pin code. The thermostat has also been designed in such a way it is almost impossible to sabotage.
Energy saving
The Timer-Thermostat achieves a high energy saving of at least 20% up to 50% without losing any heating comfort. This means the thermostat pays back the investment really quickly. With regard to the savings achieved, we offer a ‘money back’-guarantee for the first year.
The Dutch government offers a 18% subsidy for thermostats via the EIA scheme (for more information, visit http://www.senternovem.nl/eia/).
Installation
The thermostat is quick and easy to install and can replace any existing thermostat.
Our Timer-Thermostats can be used with all types of heaters and automatically detect On/Off switches or OpenTherm®. The thermostat is powered via the existing wiring from the heater using sub-charging, which means it does not need any batteries or separate power supply.
Application
The ICY18xx Timer-Thermostat can be used to control:
- central heating;
- floor heating;
- district heating;
- gas heating;
- electrical heating.
Wireless
With the affordable wireless ICY-Net it is possible to control our Timer-Thermostats from one central location. This set-up is used a lot on bungalow parks and in hotels. By linking ICY-Net to the reservations system, the accommodations can be preheated before guests arrive and switched to the Anti-Frost mode as soon as they leave. It is also possible to adjust the heating remotely to suit the guests’ needs.
